The Vogue crept into my life as a sight unseen purchase for some useful parts for a 1957 series 1 Sunbeam Rapier that needed rebuilding.
Cheap enough at $180 to rat out the parts I needed and dump the rest.
As it turned out the car had been sitting in a shed since 1983 out of the weather and was straight and rust free. The interior looked nice.
The engine had been removed around 1983 along with the four speed manual as the owner wanted to swap in an automatic gearbox. The model he had obtained from a Hillman Hunter did not fit.................and so it sat for many years.
To good to wreck for parts it then just sat for some time until I decided to put it back together and use it.
First problem was the colour. That awful brown just had to go.
Will be on the road by Christmas 2003
