New Quarter light rubbers

Frank Schoenberger  makes repro rubbers of high quality.

schoen@iprimus.com.au

In particular the rubbers for the opening front quarter light/vents on some Rootes models.

These are made out of highly refined unobtanium so when he produced some I grabbed them quick time for all my cars.

The originals are hard and falling apart, this being more so in Queensland's climate with lots of sunshine and high temperatures.

He has made sets for all my cars.

Series 1 Rapier

Mark VIII Californian (Special production)

Humber Vogue

Series V Minx

These rubbers are good quality and fit well.

Some pictures of the ones fitted in my Vogue.

The car is a way off being running, still needs paint but today I slipped the new rubbers in the frames

and popped them back in the door for a photo op.

There is a series of pictures showing how to get them back into place without damaging your paintwork.
Because of a few appendages Rootes have on the window runner it is not just a slip it into place operation.

This is the start position, from inside carefully enter the curved bracket on the end of the window runner into the door. You put the end in and rotate slowly  until the runner will fit in the opening. The vent window will need to be fully open before sliding down into place as the little limit cam sticks out if it is closed.

Some pictures of the LHS frame before refitting the vent window.

The handbook instructions to remove the vent window are very unhelpful.
There is a screw in the top mount which they say to remove.

But it holds nothing as the top mount is rivetted in place.
I just applied a little pressure on the frame and slipped the top mount out.
And again to get it back in again.
The screw holds nothing?????
