Remote Oil Filter

I really felt inadequate to the task faced with such a perfect piece of shiny aluminium.
But I manned up and carefully cut 110 mm off the end of it.

Here it is all filed up neatly square ready to mark out the required holes

Drilled holes and first test fit =
Happiness

A thing of beauty is a joy forever

An earlier trial to see where it should go

Here is the stock Pajero oil filter attached to the remote adapter sitting on my kitchen bench.
This is the best progress I have made in a while  :-)

This is where Mitsubishi wanted it

This is where I needed it to be

So there it is. The adapter all drilled and tapped and able to be mounted in place.
Just need the M 12  Tap I purchased today to thread the end holes in the adapter so I can screw in the plugs. It didn't make it into the bag with the bolts at the engineering supplier.

That was Central West steel supplies, but as this is Longreach it will still be sitting on the counter tomorrow for me to collect :-)

Another milestone on the road to the road
